Explore Minneapolis

Most Minneapolis hotels sit downtown, connected by nearly ten miles of enclosed skyways. Whether you're here for a Vikings game at U.S. Bank Stadium, the Twins at Target Field, or the Timberwolves at Target Center, you'll be a light rail ride from Minneapolis–St. Paul International (MSP).

The Mississippi River runs through downtown past the Stone Arch Bridge and the Mill City Museum, built into the ruins of a historic flour mill. The Guthrie Theater, the Walker Art Center, and its Sculpture Garden, home of the famous Spoonbridge and Cherry, anchor a strong arts scene.

Beyond downtown, the Chain of Lakes offers miles of biking and walking paths, and St. Paul, the other Twin City, is a short Green Line ride east. The Mall of America in Bloomington is on the Blue Line, 10 minutes past the airport.

Climate & when to visit

Summer (Jun–Aug)
70–85°F. Lake season, Twins games, and patios make this the city's best time of year.
Fall (Sep–Nov)
35–70°F. Crisp days, fall colors, and Vikings football.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
5–25°F with snow. The skyways make downtown easy to get around, and rates drop.
Spring (Mar–May)
30–68°F. A late, quick spring; warm days usually arrive in May.
