Beautiful building
No one on the property. Cheap toilet paper. Tv and safe didn’t work. Such an expensive room should have another chair and small bench in bathroom alcove. Could hear the people above us both nights.Hotel was just okay
Location is excellent, with free and safe parking in a private lot just across the street - which is exceptional in Nashville. Very close to many wonderful and varied neighborhood restaurants and bars as well as the up and coming ones. Always lots to explore in this part of town. Compared to downtown, prices (even for ride share) overall are much more reasonable and places are friendlier. The Russell is calm, quiet, beautiful; the rooms are very spacious and always impeccably clean. Beds and linens very comfy. Local neighborhood architecture is lovely - a great place for a walk and a wander. Still, it's very convenient to lower broadway and other places you might want to go across the river. Although "front desk" is not on site, staff/mgmt are very easy to reach and very attentive. Customer service is wonderful.
It's not a dislike, but be mindful that there is not an elevator for you to reach the upper floors. However, there are very spacious and light-filled rooms on the first floor, and there is a very convenient and efficient lift for your luggage to go to the upper floors.
