Essence hotel

The mattress was very firm, which I loved, but something to note. Blankets were pretty thin and we needed to request a second one, but the room was clean enough and the staff was soooooo friendly. We were so relieved to end up with this hotel. The air conditioner worked amazing, we had enough room, our swipe in cards had no issues. There is a little kitchenette available in the basement with a filtered water dispenser, which saved us a TON of money. We were close to the Paramount and subway access. I would easily stay here again, and that's saying a lot.

There was a wrapper of the previous guests soap in the shower, the shower grout itself between the tiles was dark grey if not black and definitely needed cleaned. The room itself was perfectly fine, the bathroom was the only thing that needed attention, and the shower at that.

Staff was excellent. Quick to respond. 24 hour coffee downstairs. Convenient breakfast to go. Excellent location. Very clean.

Room was tiny. Place could us some upgrades.

The room was very small and had no wardrobe, so there was nowhere to properly store our belongings. The bathroom was extremely noisy, and the overall experience was unpleasant: we heard people arguing and shouting in the hallway, along with constant noise. The place was also dirty, and the staff were unhelpful and unwilling to assist. I would not stay here again.

The only thing I liked about the accommodation was checking out and leaving.
