The Russell Nashville Boutique Hotel is a 3-star hotel with free WiFi and free parking. The owners kept many original features — stained glass windows, old brick walls and more — and all 23 unique rooms were curated by one of Nashville's best-known designers, each highlighting the building's history with a modern, contemporary twist and splashes of color that pay homage to the lobby's stained glass windows. Through its Rooms for Rooms program the hotel donates a generous percentage of each night's stay to local nonprofits assisting individuals experiencing homelessness in Nashville; since 2016 it has provided over 16,000 beds and meals through charitable partnerships. Rooms include walls adorned with local art, luxurious robes, a basket of hand-selected local snacks and custom furniture (several headboards are made from the church's original pews). Note: there is no guest elevator, but a dumbwaiter can send luggage to upper floors.

We had a wonderful stay at The Russell for a little Nashville getaway. The hotel itself is beautiful and fun, with great attention to detail. The East Nashville location is walkable to tons of excellent restaurants, shops, and nightlife, keeping us blissfully away from the tourist chaos of Broadway and downtown.
The Russell was the meeting point for a wedding. Wedding guests congregated in the beautiful lobby, whether they were staying there or not, although many were, so it was a home away from home for all of us. The couple added to the bright colors in the lobby with colorful flowers, so it was magical. Our room was charming, with a view of the back garden, and an old-fashioned fireplace. The ceilings make the rooms and bathrooms incredibly spacious. We stayed an extra day after the wedding because we were so happy to be there, within walking distance of many great restaurants and diversions. The proprietors were readily available to answer questions by phone and text at all times.
